Finance Rotation Program

With the data explosion and new investment in semiconductors, Applied Materials is an exciting and dynamic place to launch your career in finance. 

Details: This two-year foundational rotation program will give you the training, mentoring, hands-on experience and networking opportunities to accelerate your career growth in Applied’s Finance organization. As part of a company enabling the technology that shapes our future, you’ll learn how to partner with the business to analyze, model and drive decisions impacting profitability, ROI and the bottom line.

Eligibility: New college graduates with undergraduate degrees in accounting, finance, business administration, business analytics or economics. Candidates should have intermediate accounting coursework, advanced spreadsheet capabilities (Excel), and a GPA of 3.0 or greater, while demonstrating strong skills in data analysis, communication, problem-solving and teamwork.

Location: In the U.S., we offer this program at Applied locations in Santa Clara, CA, and Austin, TX.

What You’ll Learn: During the program, you will:

• Participate in a variety of rotations, short-term assignments, development opportunities and project work across Applied’s Finance organization
• Gain exposure to financial planning and analysis of financial transactions, project costs, ROI and profitability trends
• Prepare trend projections, models and ad hoc analysis as a partner to the business and to support critical decision-making
• Gain exposure to such processes as corporate accounting, internal auditing, shared services, inventory/variances, gross margin, finance systems and more
• Assist in the preparation of financial statements, such as balance sheets, P&L, etc.
• Participate in the quarterly close process including reconciliation preparation, transaction processing and financial reporting
• Receive support in finding a permanent role within the company where you can settle into your new career
