有機發光二極體

Unlike liquid crystal displays (LCDs), where the display is illuminated by a backlight, each pixel of an organic light emitting diode (OLED) display produces light directly.  This enables OLED displays to have higher picture quality (higher contrast ratio and wider color gamut), more diverse form factors (thin, flexible and foldable), and lower power consumption. The first mainstream adoption of OLED technology was in small displays, such as smartphones.  Applied Materials solutions can help increase adoption into applications with larger displays.
