What’s New: Applied Materials has earned the coveted Compliance Leader Verification for 2025 and 2026. Awarded by Ethisphere, a global leader in defining and advancing the standards of ethical business practices, the verification recognizes Applied’s commitment to achieving a best-in-class ethics and compliance program.
Why It Matters: Operating with responsibility and integrity is a core value at Applied, and the company has made significant investments in building a strong culture of ethics and compliance across the enterprise. Ethisphere specifically commended Applied for its comprehensive business conduct training program, while also noting the internal visibility of Applied’s compliance activities – thanks in part to its compliance champions program, regional compliance committees, and the innovative use of videos and live events during its Compliance Awareness Month.
How It Works: The Compliance Leader Verification process involves a rigorous review of a company’s ethics and compliance program and corporate culture. It includes completing a questionnaire covering the elements of an effective program, benchmarking program practices against other industry leaders, and extensive document review and interviews with executives and stakeholders. Applied’s performance was evaluated on six key areas: program resources and structure; perceptions of ethical culture; written standards; training and communication; risk assessment, monitoring and auditing; and enforcement, discipline, and incentives. More information about the program can be found here.
Teri’s Take: “Applied Materials is honored to receive the prestigious Compliance Leader Verification recognition,” said Teri Little, Senior Vice President, Chief Legal Officer and Corporate Secretary at Applied. “This award underscores our unwavering commitment to operating with responsibility and integrity across the entire enterprise, from our board and executive leadership to our more than 35,000 worldwide employees.”
