Alexander Karsner is currently a Senior Strategist at X (the Moonshot Factory), the innovation lab of Alphabet Inc., and Executive Chairman of Manifest Energy Inc., an energy technology development and investment firm he founded in 2009. Mr. Karsner is also Founder of Elemental, which innovates market-based solutions for conservation and the environment. He currently serves as a member of the board of directors of Exxon Mobil Corporation and previously served as a member of the board of directors of Broadscale Acquisition Corp. Mr. Karsner also serves on the board of Conservation International, and is a member of the boards of advisors of the Energy Futures Initiative, MIT Media Lab and the Precourt Institute for Energy at Stanford University.

Mr. Karsner joined the Applied Materials board of directors in 2008.
