Adrianna C. Ma currently serves as the Operating Partner of Index Ventures, a venture capital firm she joined in September 2020 based in London, San Francisco and Geneva, helping entrepreneurs turn bold ideas into transformative global businesses.

Prior to joining Index Ventures, Ms. Ma was a managing partner of Fremont Group, a single-family investment firm, where she spent four years overseeing a portfolio that consisted of actively managed funds as well as directly owned public securities and private co-investments. She also chaired the investment committee and assisted with Fremont’s direct private equity investments.

Prior to joining Fremont Group, Ms. Ma was a managing director of General Atlantic, where she spent ten years investing in and serving on the boards of directors of technology-enabled growth companies globally. Before joining General Atlantic, she was an investment banker for five years in Morgan Stanley's Mergers, Acquisitions, and Restructuring Department. Previously, she was a project manager at the network server division of Hewlett-Packard Company.

Ms. Ma is also involved with a number of educational and nonprofit organizations. She serves on the boards of the MIT Investment Management Company and the UCSF Foundation Investment Company. She is also a term member of the MIT Corporation and a life member of the Council on Foreign Relations. Ms. Ma joined the Applied Materials board of directors in 2015.
